  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician- Portsmouth, NH

    Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Radiation Oncology department at our NEW location! 

    Anticipated Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts. M-TH or Tu-F

     Compensation:

     $20 - $34 based on skills assessment leveling experience

    About the Role:

    As the primary technician supporting our Oncologist(s), you will play a key role in assisting with treatments, diagnostic procedures, and compassionate care for oncology patients. Your professionalism, patience, and kindness will shine as you provide exceptional support to clients both in person and on the phone.

    Position Responsibilities:

     Conduct appointment intake and record patient history

     Accurately document histories, treatments, and diagnostics in EzyVet software

     Gain proficiency in EzyVet and SmartFlow within the first 30 days

     Manage department voicemail, client callbacks, and documentation

     Assist with exams, treatments, and diagnostics, including radiation therapy and chemotherapy.

     Obtain and process lab samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates.

    Execute, monitor, and recover sedation and anesthetic events

     Maintain all equipment to ensure patient safety and best practices

     Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot linear accelerator (LINAC)

     Educate clients on oncology disease processes, treatments, and medication

     Review estimates and discharges with clients

     Maintain clean exam rooms and ensure department is well-stocked

    Qualifications:

     Certified Veterinary Technician (LVMT, CVT, LVT, or RVT) with at least 1+ year of veterinary hospital experience.

     Strong understanding of veterinary medicine and disease processes

     Technical skills: Phlebotomy, catheterization, patient restraint, radiographs, lab work, pharmacology, medication, and fluid/oxygen administration

     Radiation oncology experience and familiarity with LINAC preferred, but not required

     Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.

    Required Technician Skills:

     Proficient in phlebotomy and catheterization

     Skilled with patient restraint and handling

     Experienced with anesthesia monitoring

     Competent in radiograph positioning and technique

     Knowledgeable in medical terminology and pharmacology

     Ability to anticipate doctor needs during radiation therapy, diagnostics, and patient exams

    What We’re Looking For: 

     Currently active veterinary technician licensure; CVT, LVT, or VTS

     At least 2 years of veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting.

     Anesthesia monitoring skills required (strong is preferred), radiographic technique knowledge, and a passion for delivering top-tier patient care. 

     An ability to work both independently and within a team; a dedication to maintaining a positive, supportive hospital culture. 

     Working knowledge of Ezyvet and/or Smartflow a plus.

     Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.

  • Veterinary Technician - Small Animal - Gorham, ME

    Due to the upcoming retirement of our head veterinary technician, Edgewood Animal Hospital is looking for a licensed veterinary technician to join our 3-doctor, small animal practice in Gorham, a suburb of Portland, Maine.  We have a dedicated, well-trained staff that work collaboratively to provide quality community-based patient care in a positive work environment. Our new technician will initially work throughout the hospital assisting with patient restraint, performing venipuncture, assisting with the care of hospitalized animals and working in surgery as needed. Ultimately, if interested, they will have to opportunity to be the lead surgery technician. The right individual must be detail-oriented but also able to work in a fast-paced environment. They must be self-motivated and compassionate in the care of our patients. They must have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
